Public Announcement from the Ohio Division of Wildlife regarding Lake Fish
Local Lakes can expect to see some die off of the fish population in their lakes. This is not a concern and is seasonal due to the heavy ice cover this year. The die off is from low oxygen and exhaustion of energy (caloric) reserves caused by the heavy ice. They are advising that the die off could increase before it gets better as water temperatures warm and lingering disease affect the weak.
